I can grow plants if I understand them well enough. Plants I've never seen
or touched or tasted are much harder than familiar ones. And living things
are more challenging the longer you want them to live, because I have to
compose a spell that will teach them to take sustenance and survive, not
just call them into being and growth.
I would take music in trade, if you're willing to offer it.
[That's promising. Best get to the nuts and bolts.]
I'm aimin' ta keep a few goat onboard fer dairy, an' am lookin' fer a way ta get them greens that dunn't involve givin' up food folk actually eat or strippin' the greenhouse grass bear. So it'd be short-term, but on the regular.
[He pauses briefly.]
That music somethin' ya want live or ya lookin' fer recordin's?
How good it is matter? Or is it the effort that counts? [He'll happily offer drinking songs, but that doesn't make him skilled. Not terrible, just...well, they're for drinking.]
Any time I want a spell to do something new, I need to do something
different musically. Better to hear music from different lands and times
and worlds while I have the chance, so that I can borrow ideas as I need
them later.
I haven't complained about all the times Jacobi calls me, singing whatever
messages people wrote on these things.
[This is part of why Ulla has no motivation to learn to read. Jacobi
indulges her, aside from that brief period when he was holding a grudge.
She gets her Barge news in the form of alternate lyrics pop songs.]

Re: Audio
That shouldn't be especially difficult.
Either format of music is good. I'm more used to hearing it performed, but Warren did give me both a voice recorder and an MP3 player.

...And I enjoy it.

Re: Audio
Then I should have plenty ta trade in, if that's the case. I'll see what I can dig up fer when I have more details of the wants.
