Ulla flashes Taylor a quick grin. "It isn't usually this low. You can see what I did with it after Flotilla. I went... a little stir crazy. I needed a project." But first, she'll sing for a minute, and the water will recede, leaving only the tide pools she dug for the shrimp full of water.

Then she leads the way down the little slope of steep sand into the cave where she actually lives. Which changed a lot, during that first month back on board after a year of open ocean. Every inch of the walls is a mosaic, made of pearls and shimmering shell and the occasional gemstone. One section is reminiscent of a forest, tree limbs stretching toward other patterns. One side is all swirling waves that call to mind ocean currents. There's a massive flower blooming in another section, its shape echoed in graceful loops and arches spreading outward. She's carefully and gracefully melded the designs together at their edges, so they don't clash badly, even if her themes vary fairly wildly.
